992 Porsche 911 GT3 receives Manthey-Racing upgrades

Motorsport firm Manthey-Racing has worked its magic on the 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3

Manthey-Racing is responsible for some of the world’s most successful Porsche racing cars, and more recently applied this skill and experience to Porsche’s GT road car products. We’ve already seen its fettled Cayman GT4, GT3 RS and record-breaking GT2 RS, but now it’s the turn of the latest 992-gen Porsche GT3

Just like its 991.2 GT3 RS, Manthey has developed upgrades based around aerodynamics, suspension setup, brakes and wheels – all designed to improve on-track performance. Based on the performance of its previous cars it’s safe to say that it will be a very capable set of upgrades, but Manthey says it also designed the kit with everyday use in mind for those journeys to the circuit.

Most notable at first glance are the changes to aerodynamics, with a new front splitter, rear diffuser, carbonfibre rear wing, canards and rear wheel aero covers. Braided brake lines and uprated pads are also included, as is 4-way adjustable suspension and a set of lightweight ‘OM-1’ wheels.

Though Manthey is yet to record an official Nürburgring lap time, it seems the firm will put it through its paces once the weather improves in the new year. Nicolas Raeder, managing director of Manthey-Racing GmbH, said: ‘During fine-tuning runs, the production model lapped the Nordschleife, the traditional benchmark for all sports cars, 17 seconds faster than its predecessor. That’s really impressive and I can’t wait to see how fast the car will be with the Manthey performance kit.’

With Porsche a majority shareholder in Manthey-Racing, this performance upgrade won’t come at the cost of the manufacturer’s warranty and is expected to be available from the second quarter of 2022.
