Mercedes-Benz S-class review - incredible levels of high-tech luxury - Design

Ride and refinement are excellent, just don't expect the S-class to entertain on a twisty road

Evo rating
RRP
from £68,870
  • Refinement levels, Burmester sound system, technology and ride comfort
  • Uninspiring looks, options list is pricey

Design

As big luxurious cars go, the S-class doesn’t excite like a Bentley or Rolls-Royce might. It still looks like most current Mercedes, just on a bigger scale.

The Coupe is more pleasing on the eye, and looks perceptibly more special. That’s partly thanks to excessive chrome detailing found on the SMG models and the 47 Swarovski crystals in the headlights. Too much or completely appropriate for a brash expensive Mercedes coupe? We’ll let you decide.
