The Kia does score well in other areas of running costs too. For a start, anyone buying a new Proceed GT benefits from the same seven-year warranty you’d get on a new Kia Picanto, which also makes the Ceed an attractive used purchase since most on dealers’ forecourts will have several years of warranty left.

Insurance group 27 is lower than that of rivals like the Golf GTI too and there’s no reason to expect it to chew through consumables any quicker than its rivals – the Ceed certainly feels well bolted-together.
