Footballers in supercars normally ends in only one way, which makes Vauxhall’s decision to pit such a car against its new Corsa VXR in a car park for a new advert a very brave one indeed.

The ‘race’ was part of the #kamarachallenge and sees current England footballer Harry Kane in the VXR (and young Wayne Rooney) go up against John Barnes (an older Wayne Rooney) in a supercar, with commentary by Chris Kamara – football’s equivalent of Murray Walker.

In a race from the ticket barrier to the car park roof, with a half-time stop for a pie, the young whippersnapper takes on the old guard in an end-to-end race that results in… well, you can probably guess the result.
