Interior and tech

The inside of a Bentley Mulsanne is a very special place to be. You sit upright, with a broad commanding view over the long bonnet. It’s a big car, but visibility is as such that it’s never particularly intimidating to drive.

Personalisation consists really of what you require. Bentley’s current crop of press cars for example feature what it calls ‘hidden delights’. One features a dark blue leather interior, with hidden patches of bright orange ostrich leather set inside any drawers or storage.

Rear legroom is understandably excellent while the ability to have a fold out desk, complete with iPad mount, pop out from the driver’s seat in front, is very nice indeed.

Where the Mulsanne falls down in terms of tech is when it’s compared to the Mercedes Benz S-Class. There’s no ultra-high resolution screens here, or complex automated cruise control. Instead the Mulsanne makes do with the best of what VW group has to offer. The just unveiled Bentley Bentayga SUV is much more impressive when it comes to tech.
