Aston Martin DB9 GT review (2015) - Design

It might be feeling its age, but the DB9 GT is still a very desirable car

Evo rating
  • Desirability factor, refinement, V12 engine, bags of character
  • Ageing interior tech, gearbox slow to react, can feel dated compared to rivals

Design

Of course the DB9 hasn’t been left untouched by Aston Martin during the intervening years, and the 2012 update saw the front-engined coupe receive a major redesign that resulted in a more muscular look for Ian Callum’s original design.

Even today, some 13 years after it made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show the DB9 is one of the most stylish cars on the road, and the best looking Aston Martin you can buy.

The simplicity of its lines combined with a hint of muscular performance allows it to drive on the fine line of aggression and beauty that few others are capable of pulling off. Its replacement is going to have a tough act to follow.
