The icon, electrified: the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT

Delivering genuine thrills as a driving machine, the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT is a muscle car remixed for the 21st century

Ford Mustang Mach-E

A new generation of Ford Mustang

The Ford Mustang Mach-E GT is the performance icon, electrified. A muscle car remixed for the 21st century, it offers strong performance and pure driving thrills, with all the environmental benefits of Ford’s cutting edge EV technology.

An electrifying driving experience

Ford Performance has worked its own brand of magic on the already highly capable Mustang Mach-E, in the process turning it into a potent EV that delivers genuine thrills as a driving machine. It produces more torque than any production Ford in history, with an astounding 634lb ft that’s combined with a huge 480bhp for startling acceleration –think 0-62mph in just 3.7-sec^.

However, the Mustang Mach-E GT isn’t just about extreme power. Ford Performance has comprehensively tuned the whole vehicle to deliver the kind of sporting driving experience you’d expect from a car wearing the ‘Mustang GT’ badge. There’s a bespoke, firmer tune for the Magneride active suspension, with the system monitoring inputs 1000 times a second. That added control is combined with a 245/20/R20 tyre specifically designed by Pirelli as a P Zero dedicated to the Mustang Mach-E GT. The 20-inch wheels are exclusive to the GT model, and within them can be found a high performance braking system specifically designed by Brembo for the car, featuring four-pot calipers all-round clamping onto 385mm discs.

Ford offers three main driving modes, allowing the driver to access the GT’s tremendous performance potential in logical steps, and tailor it to everyday situations. There’s Whisper, Active and Untamed modes, and then for the ultimate driving experience, the Untamed Plus mode. In the latter, the Mustang Mach-E GT delivers not only the enhanced throttle response, sharper steering, stiffer suspension, simulated downshifts and augmented interior sound of the Untamed mode, but also calibrates the powertrain for high-demand trackday use. This setting also adjusts the traction and stability control systems so that the driver has more autonomy over the car’s behaviour near the limit of grip.

Iconic design for a new era

The Mustang Mach-E is distinctly Mustang, its crisp lines and flowing curves evoking the spirit of the 1960s original, but reimagining them for a new, electrified future. For the GT, Ford Performance has crafted a unique bodykit, further underlining the sporting potential of this model. At the front, a lower splitter improves aerodynamic performance and visually brings the car closer to the ground, while the honeycomb grille insert is a charismatic nod to previous Mustang designs. The wheel arches are colour coded to the rest of the car, unlike the other Mustang Mach-E models, and the 20-inch wheels - an inch wider for the GT - are to an exclusive GT design. The Mustang Mach-E GT possesses extraordinary performance, and that comes across in its on-road presence.
