It has more power than the Focus RS and will be on sale by the end of the year. After the excruciatingly drawn-out wait for the RS, Ford seems anxious to give its keener drivers a new performance model and quell the murmurings in the press that the Focus has lost its drivers' edge. The new ST will have a 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder 'Duratec' engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The source of the engine is, in fact, Volvo, where it nestles under the bonnets of the S40 and V50 T5s.
