9ff's 631bhp 997 Turbo
Tuning company claims 0-125mph in 10.7sec from its Porsche-based special
First car out of 9ff’s brand new production facility is a 631bhp interpretation of the 997 Turbo, claimed to thunder from standstill to 125mph in 10.7sec and roar on to a top speed of 213mph.
In fact, 9ff has a whole range of upgrades for the all-wheel-drive Turbo, starting with a freer-flowing exhaust system and air filters that bump up the power to 528bhp and raise top speed to 202mph. The stage 2 conversion involves replacement exhaust manifolds and 9ff’s own camshafts that help take the power to 552bhp and torque to 550lb ft.
To the first two packages the stage 3 conversion adds bigger turbochargers and a pair of ‘king size’ aluminium intercoolers. Result: 631bhp and 600lb ft. For the moment this is where 9ff is drawing the line with the Turbo, but given that this is the company that created a 996 Turbo with 887bhp and a 241mph top speed, it’s a fair bet that there will be more to come later.
