VAUXHALL has produced a special edition of the Astra with an intriguing ‘panoramic windscreen’ that extends halfway along the roof. Based on the 1.8-litre SRi Sport Hatch, it’s called the GTC. Just 500 will be made at a price of £15,995.

The job takes a couple of months and costs £60,000-100,000, plus the price of the base car.
