Mitsubishi i MiEV: Tokyo show 2007: Mitsubishi i MiEV

Mitsubishi revealed the all-electric i MiEV Sport concept car at Tokyo

Using the latest lithium-ion battery technology, it has a range of 124miles and a top speed of 111mph.

With a rear-mounted electric motor powering the back wheels and two smaller motors inside each front wheel, the Sport is four-wheel drive.

Recharging via a domestic supply would take seven hours, but a quick-charging system developed in conjunction with power companies could reduce this to 30 minutes for an 80 per cent charge.
