Caterham Superlight

Caterham has responded to popular demand by launching this new Superlight. It costs £22,450 fully built, £19,995 if you get your hands oily.

There's no windscreen, heater or weather gear, but you do get composite race seats, four-point harnesses, and carbonfibre dash and front wings as compensation. With minimal weight and a 140bhp, 1.8-litre X-Power K-series, it will hit 60mph in under 5sec. This, combined with wide-track suspension and Caterham's own fantastic six-speed 'box, means the newcomer should be a bit of a road-and-track bargain.
