The world loses a McLaren F1 in a rather sad Stateside fire
How’s this for a gutting sight? One of the world’s greatest and quickest cars – and of course, one of the rarest and priciest – going up in a cloud of smoke after what appears to a case of spontaneous combustion.
It happened in America, after the owner had taken it out of its six-month winter storage. Cue an onlooker to point out the tragic events to them. The fire engulfed the carbonfibre body and BMW V12 frighteningly quickly, leading to a total loss and a three million dollar insurance claim.
