Video: evo takes the Bedford track record
evo's long-term test cars head to a Bedford West Circuit How Fast day, and we end up topping the leaderboard. Video of the lap here
Since the summer, MSV has been holding ‘How Fast’ trackdays at the Bedford Autodrome, on the very same West circuit we use for our lap timing. After one hour of ‘free practice’, which runs like a normal open pitlane trackday, you take to the course one at a time to go against the clock for two flying laps. Trackdays don’t normally allow timing, making this is a first, and it means you can now compare your times to ours. Every time is posted on the website www.howfast.com Last week we took along a selection of our long-term test cars (including the VW California camper) to enter the mix. Most of our track tests are carried out by Roger Green, who happened to be between long-termers. Not wanting to miss out he called Radical Sportcars and borrowed an SR3 SL, the company's all-new road-legal, Ford Ecoboost-powered trackday weapon. With it he blew the rest of the contenders away, topping the charts by more than three seconds. He also stuck a GoPro camera to the side of his helmet for the run, the results of which are below.
You can see how we all got on in Issue 165 of evo, on sale December 7.
