BMW CSL Cup
Thorney Motorsport competition takes advantage of bargain BMW M3 prices
It’d be logical to assume that the credit crunch would be having a negative effect on the 2009 racing season, but Dunlop is reporting that its motorsport department has never been busier. Perhaps it’s the likes of the CSL Cup that’s driving up demand, as this brand new series is taking advantage of the bargain basement prices of E46 M3s. Less than ten grand is all you need to secure an early example, so even if you get a professional team to prepare the car for you, it can be on track for less than £20K.
The series is the brainchild of Thorney Motorsport boss, John Thorne, who informs us that there is likely to be at least twenty cars on the grid at the first round at Rockingham on the 20th of April and the level of interest has been extraordinary. There are four classes catering for standard and modified M3s and the same for CSLs, for all the details log on to www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk or keep a close eye on www.evo.co.uk as this championship looks too good for us to miss out on…
