Bugatti launches another special edition supercar: the Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu

Bugatti has unveiled yet another special edition Veyron at Pebble Beach.

This is the Sang Bleu, and follows a trail of other limited Veyrons including the Pur Sang, Sang Noir and Centenaire. This one differs by being based on the new open-top Bugatti Grand Sport, which was launched at the same event a year ago.

The Sang Bleu is designed to celebrated Bugatti’s 100th anniversary – although the Centenaire had the same idea – and distances itself from the other special editions by boasting tinted carbon fibre (the royal blue parts of the car) and aluminium bodywork.

It gets the same 8-litre W16 engine as the standard Veyron Grand Sport, with 1000bhp and 922lb ft of torque on tap and that world-famous 253mph top speed. No prices or production numbers have been announced but it’ll no doubt top the 1.4million euros of the regular car.

Over 250 Veyrons have been sold worldwide, with 215 delivered to customers thus far. Of the 150 planned Grand Sports, 20 have been sold. Still plenty of time to get saving for one, then…
