McLaren MP4-12C GT3 Video
Exclusive evo video of the new GT3 race version of the MP4-12C as it gets a shakedown at Silverstone
The new MP4-12C GT3 has finally broken cover. It uses much of the same technology as the road car, including the carbon tub, but there are also a few bespoke changes. Most obvious is the new aerodynamic package designed to GT3 regulations with a new front splitter, rear wing diffuser and door blade.
Under the skin the turbocharged V8 remains, but there is a new Ricardo-designed gearbox in place of the Graziano seven-speed in the road car. Bosch has also supplied a new ABS system.
Perhaps most intriguing is that the ProActive Chassis Control system has had to be replaced with a more conventional set up with race-specific anti-roll bars and dampers.
