G-Power's 224mph BMW M5 Touring

German tuner G-Power gives the BMW M5 Touring 750bhp, enough power to see it past 220mph. Video and pictures here

BMW tuning company G-Power has taken its new M5 Hurricane RS, based on the E60 BMW M5 Touring, up to 224mph on the German Autobahn.

G-Power previously took the ‘fastest saloon in the world’ record off the Mercedes-Benz CLS-based Brabus Rocket, hitting 228.4mph with its four-door (and 740bhp!) M5 Hurricane RS in 2008. It then beat its own record in 2010 with the M5 Hurricane RR, recording a top speed of 231mph with the help of an extra 50bhp. Full story here. The new Hurricane RS estate is powered by a twin-supercharged V10 engine, producing 750bhp. The interior features a plethora of leather and Alcantara, with even the floor and floor mats made from diamond stitched leather. Anything which cannot be covered in leather – such as the stereo speakers – is colour match instead. There can be few more eye-catching places to pass 220mph...
