Alfa Romeo Brera

Alfa's Brera could finally be as good to drive as it is to look at – with a little help from Prodrive

Since its launch we’ve bemoaned the heavy feel and disappointing chassis on Alfa’s top end coupe, but our prayers could be answered this summer.

The Brera S will be converted at Prodrive’s UK facility at Banbury, with the main concentration on tweaking the suspension and cutting the weight. There’ll be a few changes on the outside too so that car buffs can doff their cap to your discerning taste, namely some new 19-inch wheels, darker glass and subtle ‘S’ badging.

There’s no word on prices yet, but production is likely to be limited to around 300 units, with only the petrol range (2.2 JTS and 3.2V6) being fettled. Expect an official announcement nearer the car’s reported June launch.
