Porsche 911 GT3 RS vs Nissan GT-R - Which is fastest?
Can the legendary launch control of the GT-R be topped by the ultra-aggressive RS
Welcome to the new series of evo's Drag Battles. We kick things off with one of the biggest rivalries: Porsche 911 GT3 RS vs Nissan GT-R Track Edition.
On paper the twin turbocharged four-wheel drive GT-R has a clear advantage with 542bhp @6400rpm and 466lb ft of torque @ 3200 - 5800rpm. Factor in its launch control system and Nissan's claim of 0-62mph of 2.7 seconds, it definitely has prize winning credentials.

However, what the Porsche 911 GT3 RS gives away in horsepower and torque (493bhp @ 8250rpm and 339lb ft @ 6250rpm), it makes up for with its rapid-fire PDK gearshifts and phenomenal rear-wheel traction off the line.
Both cars were running competition OEM tyres, for the Nissan this meant Dunlop Sport Maxx and for the Porsche, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s.
evo's Drag Battles were all conducted at Alconbury's Cambridgeshire runway on a dry surface. All cars were supplied from manufacturers' press fleets on standard OEM tyres with the manufacturers were not aware of the tests being conducted.
