German tuner Techart tweaks the 981-generation Porsche Cayman coupe. Sports exhaust, 21in alloy wheels

German tuner Techart has revealed its tweaks for the new Porsche Cayman. The modifier works solely on Porsche models, and the new 981-generation coupe is the latest to receive new styling treatment. The front receives a new two-part spoiler and wider air intake, while the rear gains a fixed wing plus a new diffuser and tailpipes. They’re the visual evidence of the new sports exhaust, with a valve-control system that boosts the flat-six engine’s soundtrack (be it the 271bhp 2.7-litre in the base Cayman or the 321bhp 3.4-litre of the Cayman S) at the push of a button. More aggression comes in the form of sport springs – dropping the Cayman’s suspension 35mm compared to standard, and riding 25mm lower than a PASM adaptive damper-equipped car – which new 21in alloy wheels squeeze very snugly into. Three inches larger than a standard Cayman's, the wheels can be specced in lighter forged form, with ceramic polishing or a two-tone design. Techart’s Cayman makeover isn’t as hardcore as some rivals’, but it’s assertive and certainly easy to spot the differences over stock. The interior offers room for detailed personalisation, with the choice of carbonfibre trim, coloured stitching and either paddle shifters or PDK buttons should you have specified Porsche’s seven-speed twin-clutch gearbox. Techart’s press example demonstrates carbon features, matt PDK shifters and a lot of orange stitching…
