Confirming evo’s story from issue 112 regarding the V10 R8 are these leaked pictures of a new, normally aspirated V10 engine sitting where the current V8 resides.

Audi engineers told evo last year this engine is a new V10 design based on the brilliant V8 engine in the current R8, tuned to produce just over 500bhp and red-lined at 8500rpm. These pictures prove those expecting the V10 R8 to feature the twin turbo engine from the new Audi RS6 were very much mistaken.

Expect to see this V10 R8 to be officially revealed later this year, with UK sales starting in early 2009.
