 So, why doesn't the new Volkswagen Scirocco have the deep trapezoidal air intake that gave the IROC concept car its fierce face? Scirocco designer Marc Lichte explained: 'The new front is a modern interpretation of the original Scirocco, a black grille between four headlights. It will be the new Volkswagen face. Martin Winterkorn [head of VW] thinks that too many carmakers are incorporating big lower intakes, so he said we should emphasise the area above the bumper and tie the lights together.'
